Rachel Bryant Saville MA BSc VetMB MRCVS
Rachel qualified from Cambridge in 2003 and joined us at Penmellyn in the same year.
Rachel is one of our mixed vets but most of her time is spent within the equine department.
James Christie MA VetMB MRCVS
James is originally from Surrey and studied veterinary medicine at Cambridge University. He qualified in 2006. He moved to Cornwall after qualifying and worked in mixed practice for two years before moving to Penmellyn to focus on small animal work.
He is interested in all aspects of small animal work, especially internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
Outside of work James is interested in photography, fencing (with swords- not post and rail!), surfing, walking and formula 1.
He has two cats called Bramble and Bracken. Both hold the opinion that cats are vastly superior to dogs!
James’s ambitions for the future are to obtain his Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons certificate in small animal medicine.
James assumed the position of small animal clinical director for St Columb Major in March 2012.
Katie Lewis BVetMed MRCVS
Katie qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London and worked in mixed practice before joining us at Penmellyn at the end of 2008.
She is a mixed practice veterinary surgeon with particular interests in small animal and equine medicine and wishes to pursue these areas in more depth in the future.
Outside of work Katie is interested in marine mammals, surfing, scuba diving (there’s a water theme developing here), socialising and films.
She has a Border collie and two rabbits.
Gina Togneri BVSc BSc MRCVS
Gina comes from Cornwall. She holds both a veterinary degree and a bachelor of science degree with honours in Bioveterinary Science.
Her interests within the practice are in small animal surgery, equine colic and orthopaedics and general farm work.
Outside of work Gina is interested in horse riding, walking, swimming, family life and teaching herself to play the flute.
She has recently acquired a 15 year old cat called Muffet who has settled in very well. Gina also has a 20 year old horse called Sky, who she has had since he was a three year old. She still hacks her out in her spare time.
Jason Holt BVM&S BSc MRCVS
Jason joined the practice in July 2011.
He is Cornish and originally comes from Illogan. He studied at Edinburgh and qualified in 2006.
He will be running our new practice in Pool.
He has special interests in surgery and dentistry.
Outside of work he enjoys football, cricket, kitesurfing, walking, reading and pub quizzes.
He has a 3 years old German Shorthaired pointer called Dill and a cat a cat called Myrtille.

Liz Miller BVM&S BSc MRCVS
Liz completed a degree in Animal Science at the University of
Wales, Aberystwyth, before embarking on her veterinary training at
Edinburgh University. After qualifying in 2007, she worked in mixed
practice for just over a year in Berkshire, before deciding to focus
more on small animal medicine and surgery. Having worked in Devon for
the last few years, she has decided to upsticks to Cornwall where she
can focus on attaining her CertAVP in Small Animal Surgery...under the
watchful eyes of our Certificate holders Colin and Ian. She has
particular interests in analgesia, anaesthesia, surgery and chicken
medicine. She lives with her husband and crazy blue-eyed cat Marti. She enjoys winemaking, walking and pub quizzes.

Chris McIntosh BVetMed MRCVS
Faye Brydie BVM&S MRCVS
Faye is originally from Scotland, and qualified from Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) Veterinary College in 2010. She worked in a small animal practice in the North East of England for 19months before moving down to Penmellyn in April 2012. Faye is especially interested in small animal internal medicine and diagnostic imaging, and her aims for the future include obtaining the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. In her spare time Faye enjoys swimming, cycling, scuba diving and travelling. Also for the past year she has been learning to surf, and feels that she has come to the right place to better her skills!
