Krystina Roberts
Krystina is our cleaner who is responsible for all the areas on the first floor of our practice.
She is Cornish and has lived in the St Columb area all of her life.
She enjoys keeping the practice clean and tidy so that it can run smoothly and her friendly manner (and the fact she leaves a clean building) helps to keep other staff happy too.
Outside of work she is interested in walking, travelling (including visiting historic places) and line dancing.
She has a puppy called Merlin.
Emma Hackett BSc (Hons)
Emma has a HND in equine science and a BSc (Hons) in animal science (equine).
She is one of our equine grooms and is responsible for the day to day tasks of looking after the hospitalised horses. She also plays a key role in the administration work involved with our TB testing responsibilities. She particulary enjoys going out on TB tests with vets to assist with scribbing duties and meeting farmers.
She is the daughter of a midwife and funeral director and comes from Cornwall.
Outside of work Emma’s interests include cross-stitch, facebook, church, walking, chickens and rug making.
Emma has two miniature Shetland ponies, a dog, two cats and several chickens.
Geoffrey Varcoe
Geoffrey was born in St Wenn where he attended school before commencing secondary education in Bodmin. He was a dairy farmer until 2004.
Within the practice Geoffrey is responsibly for maintenance of the buildings in his role as our handyman.
Outside of work he has interests in Cornish wrestling, rugby, auctions and welding.
He has three dogs and eight horses- having recently bought a foal to bring on.
When asked regarding his future aims within the practice Geoffrey said he aims ‘to stop until he is 65 then I’m off’.
Phil Wingfield
Phil has a HND in motor vehicle engineering and works for us as a member of our maintenance staff.
He moved to Cornwall in 1984 to start a wholesale and retail fruit and vegetable business which he ran until a car accident led to a life change in 2003.
Within the practice Phil is responsible for some general maintenance duties and assisting within the stock room.
Outside of work Phil is interested in motor racing and horse racing.
He lives with his wife Jane and their cat, Taggart, who enjoys watching wildlife programmes.
Leanne Rogers
Leanne has many qualifications within the equine and rural sectors. These include a BSc (Hons) in rural business management, a FdSc degree in equine sports performance and coaching and the British Horse Society stage 3 examination in horse knowledge and care and an Advanced National Certificate in the Management of Horses and an NVQ level 2.
Leanne is one of our equine grooms.
She is interested in caring for horses both within work and outside. She also trains and competes horses. In addition to working at Penmellyn Leanne runs her own pet care business.
She has two cats and a horse (who Leanne says is always wanting to see the vets!)
Charlotte Baker
Charlotte worked in a bank for 15 years before relocating to Cornwall and coming to work at Penmellyn Veterinary Group.
She is our kennel assistant and is responsible for caring and looking after hospitalised animals and enjoys giving them lots of love.
Outside of work Charlotte is interested in motorbikes and formula 1.
